Young Science Ambassador

The Young Science Ambassador will play a key role in inspiring young people’s interest in Science by developing a range of fun events and activities using the inspiration and magic of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as their theme. They will be the best advocates, role models and leaders of other young people creating and providing opportunities both within their own school and local community setting.

The role of the young SCIENCE ambassador

  • Young Science Ambassador will complete accredited CREST Award your enthusiasm for science (http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/web/ccaf/CREST/)
  • Encourage others to think about, and engage in, scientific activity
  • Promote interest in science at home, school or in the community
  • Lead, Support  and Empower other  talented young students
  • Support learning inspired by the Olympic and Paralympic Games across other subject areas
  • Bring some Olympic and Paralympic inspiration into a range of fun events and activities

Mapping the ambassador role to the National Curriculum

CREST is Britain’s largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).  Its gives young people aged 11-19 opportunities to explore real world projects in an exciting way.  CREST links closely to the curriculum and is a great way to make STEM creative and engaging – both in and out of class.
