Message from Lord Coe

At London 2012 our vision has always been to use the unique power of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire change.

An important part of that involves capturing the imagination of young people all over the world through sport, culture and education.

As Young Ambassadors you are part of our front Line task force helping to fulfil this promise in Britain, and have been chosen to participate as talented role models to others.

Indeed, to recognise Young Ambassadors as members of our team we have awarded our groundbreaking Inspire Mark to the programme.

These conferences are designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to spread the power of sport and the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements to young people in your communities.

As an athlete and competitor at the Olympic Games, I know how pushing your boundaries and the time invested in training can be challenging.

However, they are both essential for good results and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing successful and inspiring outcomes coming out of your own personal effort.

That is why I wish you well and hope you make the most of your role as a Young Ambassador.

Sebastian Coe KBE

Chair, London 2012 Organising Committee
