Wednesday 16th saw our 4th Sportshall Athletics Festival. We held the event at Legends Sports again which thankfully was somewhat warmer than last year!! We had a smaller entry this year but what we lacked in numbers was more than made up in noise and enthusiasm.We were lucky to have our Gravesham celebrity athlete, Martin Brockman again this year, coaching and throwing down various racing challenges. Needless to say he remained champion.!We also had the exciting addition of a photo finish electronic scoreboard which proved essential in several races. All teams followed the Sporthall golden rules of having fun and supporting your team as loudlly as possible and a great time was had by all. My thanks go to al the GSSP team and particularly to the Leaders from Northfleet School For Girls and Gravesend Girls Grammar who did a fantastic job of coaching , demonstrating, and officiating the event.After a closely fought competition runners up were Riverview and winners were Shears Green who will go through to represent Gravesham in the county event. Good luck to them.
